Pesta apa?

Pesta buku lah.. apa lagi.

Semenjak saya selalu membeli buku online ni, saya dah tak bersemanagat sangat nak ke pesta buku sebenarnya.

Tapi ada budak sorang tuh... sejak dari keluaran AnaMuslim bulan 3 lagi dah excited nak pergi. Dah lama buat list buku2 yang nak dibeli, peminat nombor satu novel AnaMuslim. The first gerai yang kami pergi adalah AnaMuslim... after that umi n ayah senang hati nak cari buku. Yang penting bagi satu port untuk budak kecik tuh baca buku hahaha.

Kekadang terfikir apa pentingnya beli buku, sedangkan di internet dah banyak melambak pelbagai tutorial kan, tapi bila belek2 buku ni, kekadang ada teknik yang tak terdapat in detail di internet, plus boleh jadi quick reference bila takde idea nak buat pattern camna.

Oklah.. happy Monday and Happy Labour day to all workers around the world.

Another ABC123 Baby Quilt

I admit that I took a longer time to finish this... its all because of the "Awana" things.. kalau tak lama siap, nak buat macamana kan.. "saya yang menurut perintah" hahaha

EZ wetbag with tutorial

Happy Monday friends..

I felt like sleeping, yup not enough rest on weekend.. maybe.. or too much rest ahahaha

It was really a busy dizzy weekend actually, we went down from Genting Awana on Saturday afternoon, after lunch. Then we took an hour or two rest at home before sending Izzah to her swimming class. After her class, all of us (me, hubby and Izah) dumping ourself in the pool for more than an hour.. fuh... best but penat.

On Sunday.. its laundry day hahaha... plus all the deferred housework to do huh.. tapi sempat jugak visiting our friends at GoGoBazaar at Sogo.. akhirnya jumpa jugak dengan Kak Jamilah SCLover... kalaulah tidak kerana masa yang mencemburui kami (cheeewahh ayat pidato plak kan), tentu dah borak panjang. Tapi kami rushing ke swimming class Izzah plak, once again huh. Harap2nya cepatlah Izzah pandai berenang, no more commitment nak hantar dia ke kelas renang.

Bila dah tinggalkan rumah lama, mood menjahit pun sedikit down. Kena warming up niii.. ada 2 more baby quilt to finish by end of this month... plus a bag, plus plus plus... never be a minus kan

So sempatlah saya jahit 1 tudung untuk berenang, actually I bought a brand new swimming suit with head cover, but the old one dont have headcover, then I made one copying Izzah's swimming cap, nasib menjadi hehehe

And here is another simple bag.. a wet bag. Sangat berguna untuk bawa cloth pads..

This small size can fit in 2 cloth pantyliners or 1 cloth pad (depends on size) at a time

Its very easy to do.. semudah ABC hihihi

You need 2 pieces of waterproof fabric measuring 5.5 inch x 5 inch (or you can have you own measurement) - the waterproof fabric can be PUL, laminated or even oilcloth

Fold 1/2 inch and topstitch

Then stack it together, and sew

Turn the right side out

Topstitch the bag except the opening.

Then install a snap button, and its DONE

Very easy right...

The ideas of this bag is actually "stolen" from this simple bag made by my dearest Izzah for her Uno game.. This bag was not properly sewn, seh just sew what ever she like and it happen that this one was like a bag

.

She is now conquering my NV50, emmm kemana tumpahnya kuah kalau tak ke nasi kan...

She sew on her own with my scrap, opss not the cotton scraps, but scraps that I made from making baju kurung or curtain. She is actually exploring all deco stitches in my NV50 and she is now can operate the machine on her own, only once a awhile she did call me incase any troubleshoot....

I made another wetbag with different sizes.. but not yet installing the snap button.

Another addition to my bookshelf... 

Dah lama berangan nak memiliki buku ini, akhirnya sampai jua, saya beli dari BookDepository at USD24. Buku ni memang complete guide to bag making plus lots of bag patterns too. I love it very much.

And these are..... addition to my stash.. cant help staring at this beautiful fabric...

All Cath Kidston waterproof fabrics.. I am a bit "tamak" for buying more than 7 yards of these beauty hahaha.. yup.. memang tamak. Padahal bukanlah hardcore bag maker pun..

 

Thank you sooooo much to my blogger friend who's helping me in buying this directly from here. Opss saya tahu.. kalau masuk link tuh, memang rasa nak pengsan kejap, macam nak beli semua benda kan kan... jangan salahkan saya kerana bagi link tuh ok.

And I am thinking of a new apron for me and Izzah with this fabric... cantik berserilah dapur ku dengan apron baru nanti (baru stage berangan yerrr hahaha...)

I have finished few quilt project recently and the most worrying thing to me is... .the scraps!!!!. And its time for me to have a "Just Sew it without rule" project...

And practising my FMQ toooo... not really a neat work..

I should say, its ok for a beginner right.. I love the LOVE shape... I figured it out just before sleeping hahaha.. Nasib tak mimpi FMQ with that shape kan...

Ada banyak juga pertanyaan yang mana satu lebih bagus, yang guna flannel atau pun yang guna bamboo..

Personally I would say Bamboo adalah lebih baik, ianya really good to your skin, some more its an antibacterial fabric. Lagi satu, saya menggunakan cotton untuk bahagian "wing"nya. Compare to flannel, cotton lebih tahan lama.

Manakal flannel akan berbulu dan menipis through time. Tapi so far saya dah pakai almost 2 years, my first flannel pantyliner still ok lagi. And offcourse, flannel is much more cheaper than bamboo.

Pilihan di tangan anda, kalau setakat nak cuba2 dulu, trylah flannel, takut nanti hangat2 taik ayam jer, sekerat jalan jer pakai, so tak lah rugi sangat sebab murah jer kan ahaks...

From Pads to A Cup

Hi Ladies...

I have been thinking about upgrading or migrating or what ever it calls.... to menstrual cups. I have browsing all over the net on anything related to menstrual cup.

Menstrual cup is super useful.. :) I am a big fan of menstrual cup.. :)　 I have Ladycup and Meluna cup. No need to thoroughly wash during the period, just empty, rinse it with water and insert it back. But boil them before/after each period or use Alcohol wipe. The Meluna cup is stiffer than the Ladycup, but when it is inside, I can't tell the difference. I don't feel anything when the cup is inside.. just like without period..

I went to check and she didn't have auction like before. When she does the price is like USD20 plus..

I use cup during the heavy days... save me washing too many cloth pads. My ideal situation would be I empty the cup before I leave for work and then only empty the cup when I get home at night. This means that I need a cup which is big enough for that. Ladycup L size almost achieve this but the Meluna L size could take a bigger volume than the Ladycup L size, the reason why I bought Meluna L size ( but I end up preferring Ladycup as it is softer and easier for me to insert).

Pears in Aqua.. Thread Spools

Another project accomplished

Dulu2 saya takut benor dengan mitered corner, and believe it or not, for the first 5 block, I felt like to discontinue with the block, but after, I got the rhythm.. and after 20 blocks, means 20 time 4 corners... 80 corners.. I fall in love with it.

The quilted pillowcase.. first time buat pebbles tuh... wokey jugak. bolat2.. kat tengahnya kembong gitu hahhaa

This set comprises of 2 bolster, 1 small pillow and 1 bigger pillow

Hopefully the owner will like it.

And this..... another block in making..

Here is my first 3D patchwork pattern, at first I thought its an hourglass but its not... its a Thread Spool..

Luckily that the owner doesnot restricted me to any colours, so I can make it as colourful as I wish to.

The main fabric is Robert Kaufman Pears in Aqua by Anne Kelle

Now dah stage nak handstitch binding, this will make me busy during my lunch hour today

Buat baby Qish yang comel... tengok kat FB jer.. tak pernah berjumpa secara live.

Harap baby Qish tidur lena dengan bantal ni.

Actual size 17.5 x 17.5 inch, tapi bantal yang saya guna ni kecik skit. so nampak kurang cantik skit. Nak confirm dulu dengan mama Qish, nak bantal sekali atau pun tidak, sebab bantal macam ni banyak jer jual kat hypermarket kan, buat rugi kos pos jer kalau saya nak buatkan...
