Tissue Box Holder for car (with Tutorial)

My weekend activity..
Still remember my tissue box cover here?
This is the improvised version of it... and specially made to match my previous ABC Project

Nak tissue... sila ambil sendiri yerr (di tujukan khas untuk Izzah kikiki)
And I am thinking of sharing it with all of you.. if any one who would like try on your own.

I used the 100 ply tissue box, in which I think suitable than using a bigger box (like before, I used 200 ply box)

What you need are:
Fabric A = Outer
Fabric B = Lining
Fabric C = Interfacing
* all measurement inclusive of seam allowance
1. Cut 19" x 4" of A,B,C = 1 piece each
2. Cut 8" x 9 1/4" of A,B,C = 2 pieces each
3. Cut 3" x 18" of A
4. Cut 1 inch (wide) Elastic 10 "
5. Bias tape 10" = 2 pieces
Snap button (optional, can use velcro, button with button whole etc)

Or else if your tissue box is different measurement than mine, u can measure it yourself.. like what I did here hihihi (before I came out with the cutting above)
First of all, I iron on the interfacing to the lining fabric
Then make a line seperti dlm gambar di bawah for fabric cut number 1 (the 8"x9 1/4") (Front)
Put fabric A and B (B+C) - 1 piece each- together and sew 2 parallel line... about 1/4 inch gap between line.. but if you prefer a wide window for the tissue to come out, you can make it wider
Cut the fabric in the middle of the line and turn the fabric (macam buat poket tebuk).
So now we have the window for the tissue holder. Hopefully the insctruction is clear.. hahahaha pardon me for a bad instructions here

Ok now.. sew fabric cut number 1 (19"x4") our first step above. You will get this...

Now lets make the strap.
Then insert the elastic. Make sure locked the end of the elastic to the strap with pin. if not you will find the elastic in the middle of the fabric huhuhu..

Sew the strap to the 2nd cut of number 2 (at the back)

Then sew the fabric together
You will get something like this..
The top stitch the left and right side of the tissue holder. To make it neat, use you iron on fusible tape first to hold both the fabric together.
Then finished it with bias tape
Fastened you snap button.
Tadaaaaa the finish product.
Ok.. now you can put it in its place
Hopefully the tutorial is clear enough, this is my first time doing a tutorial from scratch... and would love to hear from you. Also appreciate any comment on it

And if to DIY is too difficult for you.. I made an extra holder in which I intend to sell it.. but with a slight different pattern, its an envalope type (just a variation in the pattern)
The price is.... emmm berapa yer? RM28 each exclude post
Interested? Please email me for detail ok.
Update15.11.2010: Both Not available anymore. Sorry yerrr. But layan je lah gambar2 dibawah yer

Macam macam aderrr

I have to admit that fall in love with cotton linen recently. I bought it online from few blogshop like fabricfanatic and lovecraft, and dont dare to buy in yard yet, just sample linen and scrap only hihihi. and I am working on it..

And I want to tell you a secret.. nampak tak.. this boxy pouch can stand on its own.. I dont put anything inside and no any interfacing.. hahaha.. the truth is I used canvas cotton as a lining fabric. I bought it from Nagoya few months back at RM11.90 per meter, and never used it. Wahh why am I ever think of it before.. senang kerja, no need nak iron on the interfacing etc etc..

Kalau dah ada new tools in d hhauz, takan nak tengok ajer kan.. my testing on my eyelet pliers.. menjadi jugak. Rasa macam nak tebuk lg few holes plak hihihi. Gian nak menebuk gitu...
The love-love applique is using machine stitching. Entah macamana, buka manual NV50 tuh semalam, tetiba tertengok cara2 camna nak guna applique stitch.. mmg ok jugak buat camni.. ahhh semua bende nak cuba kan..
Honestly.. when I joined my current employer, I lost excitement in accounting due to a very small job scope, only on budgeting. No more dealing with the auditors, no financial perfomance report to BOD, no tax submission, no dealing with bankers or financier.. ahhh life as an accountant is so bored without all those things. but Thanks to Allah for giving me this new excitement.. in crafting and sewing and connected to people that I have never met without boundaries. Agghhhh luahan perasaan plak kan. Uhhh abaikan sajer yerrr.

Selamat Berhujung Minggu semua yerr.. ops petang ni nak g sekolah Izzah.. ada hari kecemerlangan pelajar, tak sangka plak budak malas nak baca buku mcm si Izzah ni bole dapat 4A 1B hahaha. yang B tu adalah Maths.. subject that I love most in my school days, but for her, she hate it the most kikiki.

New Tool.. New sewing table..

Dari pagi tadi saya dok menggoogle (apa lah nyer ayat hehehe) pasal Eyelet Plier. Macam cantik jugak kalau letak eyelet kat beg or pouch kan. Ada jugak dijual online.. dah dok pikir2 nak beli dah.

And entah macamana, masa rehat tadi tergerak hati nak masuk DIY shop kat office nii the discount offered called me there sajer sajerlah tanya ada tak eyelet pliers nii.. uittt ada rupanyerrrrr. wahhh best gitu. Refill plak ada kat stationery shop kat sebelah. Wow pucuk dicita ulam mendatang macamni. Terus jer nak beli, padahal tak tengok lagi wallet ni cukup tak duit hehehe.. nasib ada discount, maka cukup ler duit lunch saya tengahari niii
Satu lagi yang menyebabkan saya makin happy menjahit adalah my new sewing table in d hauz. It just a 5 feet banquet table from the nearest hypermarket. Hopefully boleh bertahan lama ler.. janganlah ada yg melengkung kat tengah tuh. Rasa macam besar jer dunia jahitku bila meja ni besar hehehe
Salam Khamis buat semua tanda esok Jumaat yaaahoooo.. lusa cuti bye bye

Back to nature but not so natural

Hahahha this entry has nothing to do with craft..
Where we were last weekend... escaping myself to nature but not so natural..
We are here again..

Bukit Gambang Resort City
Previously it just a day trip to the water park but now we stay over night at the resort .. for freeeeee.
Entrance View of the Water Park

Dah tak sabar nak masuk air niii
Gambar dalam air semua takde... kalau camera ni bawa masuk air, sah bole masuk tong sampah ler lepas ni hehhee

Kat resort.. sambung plak dlm swimming pool.. tak sudah sudah..

Review skit pasal bgrc niii... not so impressive review I think
1. Overall at water park ok, walaupon kena sewa cabana at RM32.. oklah.. bole baring2 n makan sekeluarga kat sini
2. Resort plak.. so and so jer. Kami ambil Family suite with 2 bedrooms, there is no aircond in the living room. Lucky that the weather was a bit cool and rainy on that day
3. TV reception was too bad.. no astro ok
4. No sofa.. only set kayu jati at the living room.. you cant opt to sleep in the sofa, have to take axtra matress at RM35 plus breakfast
5. Water heater at the 2nd room was not functioning
6. Eventhough it is a family suite, only coffee making facility available, no any microwave or toaster (may be I am too accustomed to Family Suite with basic cooking facility kut.. so I expected the same)
7. Only buffet breakfast is available at RM18.00... the meals??? rasanya tak berbaloi with that RM18.00 per head.. Nasi lemak, bihun goreng, bubur nasi and 2 types of kuih... Me and my hubby went to the waterpark entrance for an ala-carte breakfast... need to take the trem services with a single ride of RM1 per person. The rest of my family went for buffet breakfast (inclusive in the room rate)

Apa pun, the overall trip was full of fun and joy. Rasanya kalau nak bercuti lagi kena ajak the whole family sekali.. kalau takat me, hubby n izzah mmg tak beshhh (pinjam kata2 Izzah)
